FAQ
Why use a therapist with a couple and family background, if I am looking for individual therapy?
Individual symptoms often stem from relational, intergenerational, and cultural stressors.Couple and family therapists are trained to look at problems (and potential solutions) from a perspective that addresses these factors.
According to AAMFT, “over 98 percent of clients of marriage and family therapists report services as good or excellent” and “consumers report that marriage and family therapists are the mental health professionals they would most likely recommend to friends.”
The holistic approaches that couple and family therapists tend to incorporate likely contributes to these successful outcomes.
